The event was well planned as usual by the joint ladies and social committee led by Dave Tabron as social secretary. It has established itself as an ideal way to start the new Masonic season by meeting up with old friends, bidding a warm welcome to new ones and to generate funds for charity, but above all to enjoy a good meal in convivial company and to have some fun.

Stanley Jackson, WM opened the evening by extending a warm welcome to everyone and hoped that an enjoyable evening would follow.

Over 75 members and guests enjoyed an excellent three course carvery meal with grace being offered by the acting chaplain, Derek Bowden.

Two raffles, one with many quality prizes and the always popular bumper basket of alcoholic beverages were the main fund raisers of the night.

Entertainment followed the meal with dancing to the ‘Bar Room Boys’, a four piece band who played an excellent mix of music to suit everyone’s taste including country and western and a selection of popular music.

The event was very successful and enjoyed by all. A magnificent sum of over £730 was raised for charity.

Stanley closed the evening by thanking all for their kind support and generosity. He also wished everyone a safe journey home.
