Lights were swinging with the Jailhouse Rock

It was Viva Las Vegas all the way as Elvis arrived at the Warrington Masonic Hall for the Lodge of Lights No 148 spring social.  Gwilym Jones WM opened the evening by extending a warm welcome to everyone and ‘It’s now or never’ for an enjoyable spectacle.

Over 93 members and guests enjoyed an excellent four course meal from the five star rated Masonic Hall consisting of soup, carvery of roast chicken and gammon and all the trimmings, dessert selections with a choice of cheesecakes and gateaux and finishing with a spread of premier cheese and biscuits.

Once the meal was over it was time to get on the ‘Blue suede shoes’ as Elvis took to the stage to sing a range of songs that left the audience ‘All shook up’ as they danced to the tunes.  The dancers paused for a rest during an interval in the performance and everyone eagerly checked their raffle tickets to see if they had won something from a large selection of prizes.

A tribute to Elvis

Elvis returned to the stage refreshed and with a change of outfit, to carry on rocking the hall.  The evening was very entertaining and raised a magnificent sum of over £600 for charities. Once Elvis had left the building, Gwilym closed the night by thanking everyone for their kind support and wished them all a safe journey home.
