Darren Santus, the second ‘Lewis’ in Boteler Lodge No 7367 has recently attained his third degree and his
proud father Paul witnessed the ceremony as senior warden.
The ceremony was expertly undertaken by several members of the lodge and chaired by Jim Carrington WM.
It was a very sincere and emotional experience for both father and son. Paul said ‘It’s a wonderful thing to
have your son with you in the lodge and to share the camaraderie of brothers’, adding that he and Darren’s
relationship is more like that of best friends rather than that of a father and son.
Darren is very happily married to his wife Joanna and they are blessed with three children, Bella three, Logan
seven and Lauren aged 12.
Both father and son are looking forward to working together to support Boteler Lodge.
Jim said that ‘Boteler Lodge is one big family and he was delighted that there were such special ties between
fathers and sons in the lodge’.
Following the ceremony an excellent ‘Boteler style’ five course banquet was served which included potted
shrimps, frog’s legs, rack of lamb with Boulangère potatoes & seasonal vegetables, crêpes Suzette and a
premier cheese board, served with red and white wines and followed by tea or coffee.
In conclusion it was an excellent night with a very sincere ceremony, excellent company and first class food.
